DirecTV MyWorld Behind The Scenes Videos

Talk about strange surprises. When I got the call that I was going to be the tech on another DirecTV shoot I was braced for another older gentlemen celebrity, not the three girls from the popular new media based reality television show MyWorld. MyWorld is a DirecTV produced series following these three girls on a trip around the world where they try to meet all of their MySpace friends. MySpace is a social networking site that is extremely popular among the 15-30 crowd and represents a significant portion of our youth’s internet based social interaction. IE people like me (22) spend far far too much time talking to each other via MySpace rather than in real life. But it makes for a great way find and keep in touch with old friends, some of whom you may never be able to see again in real life. Thus a TV show about this cultural happening, no matter what the content, will be quite successful.
The shoot itself was actually pretty uneventful. Other than our firewire cable being run over by a Ducati (that is why we bring back ups), everything went great. This shoot also represents Nate’s first time as a tech with us and he kicked arse. So big thanks to you Nate, and take a look at my masterful cinematic work above and below. Yes, the videos are shakey, but you try to do better with a cell phone camera!
